Claude Duet vs Allternit UI gaps
A working mock built from our own CSS: the setup wizard hands off into chat, our project editor made lighter, and Artifacts in the composer's bottom deck
Built and merged (2026-10-22)
allternit-ai #753 and allternit-platform #1794 are merged. ai.allternit.com deploys itself from main.
- Setup hand-off: about 4.5 s. Everything you connected builds A://, WELCOME types your name, and the A lands in Home's logo.
- Lighter project editor, and one New project sheet with a Purpose field.
- Artifacts ▾ with your pins in every composer's bottom deck. The runtime gets a
/deck-pinsroute. - One Bot-mode composer: the same bottom deck everywhere, and the top deck on Bot Home once a bot is picked.
Still to release: the m.allternit.com PWA deploy and the Desktop runtime publish. Both need your go.
What this is
The phone below loads our real stylesheets: theme.css (graphite dark) and the setup wizard's setup.css. Its markup copies four real components. They are the wizard's last screen (ConnectedView), the AppearanceEditor folder icon, the composer's bottom deck (Agent mode ▾ | Plugins ▾) and the bot thread top deck. Only the motion and the new parts are invented.
Try it: tap Open Allternit to see the Duet-style hand-off into chat. Use Slow-mo to check each beat. Then New project, then Artifacts ▾ in the bottom deck.
Duet's hand-off, frame by frame (5 per second)

Beats: theirs vs ours
| Beat | Duet | Ours (Allternit brand motion) |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Leave setup | Page fades, logo rises | Every app, brain and computer you connected collapses into a block and flies in to build the A:// mark, with the locked intro's streak trails |
| 2. Arrive | Logo becomes a check mark | The coral core pops and lands in the A (same timing as the brand intro) |
| 3. Celebrate | Ink rays | Coral shockwave + flash, then a light sweep across the blocks |
| 4. Hold | about 1.5 s | WELCOME, EOJ types under the mark with a coral cursor; the core heartbeats |
| 5. Hand-off | Check arcs into the header | "://" dissolves right to left; the A arcs into the chat header and keeps going as the live thinking orb |
| 6. Get to know you | Status words, then a profile | Same, with our status words |

What changes in our code
| Piece | Today | In the mock |
|---|---|---|
| Setup → app | Open Allternit jumps straight to Home | The six beats above, about 4.3 s, then the get-to-know-you phase |
| Project editor | AppearanceEditor: an 880 px dialog with 3 colour pickers, sliders, file upload and PNG export | A phone sheet: folder preview, Symbols / Brands / Text / Image, 20 banner colours, Name, Purpose. Everything else sits under More options |
| After Create | The project opens | The bot reads the purpose and offers tasks (Yes / No / Not now). The status pill shows #project |
| Top deck | Only in bot chats and threads | The same Bot mode top deck everywhere a bot is in focus (see G) |
| Pinned artifacts | None on the phone | Artifacts ▾ in the composer's bottom deck, after Agent mode and Plugins, with Pinned / Recent / All artifacts. Pin and unpin from the artifact's ⋯ |
Bot mode composer: one standard
Bot mode uses two different composers. Bot Home uses ChatComposer with the bottom deck (Agent mode ▾ | Plugins ▾) and no top deck. Bot chats and threads use ThreadComposer with the top deck (Chat · Threads · Tasks · Bot) and no bottom deck.
The standard: every bot-mode composer has the same bottom deck (Agent mode ▾ | Plugins ▾ | Artifacts ▾, with your pins). The top deck shows whenever a bot is in focus. That includes Bot Home once you pick a bot in To:, so the top deck is the same everywhere.
